A year and a half ago

A year and a half ago I got up one morning and one of my two Border Collies must have had a stroke during the night. She could hardly stand. She was 13 and named Wilson after the ball in the movie castaway. She didn't care she had a boys name. We had to "put her down". A week later we found out our other one, Whitney (named after the best vet in the world) had cancer. She had been very sick and we had to end her life too. That was a very hard time for our family. Two dogs gone in two weeks. My wife's best friend had died 2 weeks before the 1st dog did.

Well,, we suffered for a week without a dog. Then we got this little 8 week old puppy from a rescue. She was in their care because she was in a kill shelter and was going to be killed soon. We named her Rain. It had been a terrible week and it rained all that week so it fit.

A few weeks later I started calling her Boo Boo since she was an accident. Now she's called Rainy Boo or just Boo for short.

I put together a video of her first year with us on this spinning ball we live on.

Thought it might help someone who has to go through what we did. I wanted to just lay down and die but here's what happened:

PS: Thanks Boo

Love stories like this, I like my dogs more than I like most people. My wife and I rescued both our dogs that were seized in a fighting ring. They were both used as bait dogs. They'll both be 9 this November.....I don't know what I'll do when they pass.
Hercules and my daughter

My Scout, she's my baby

Bring the people who used them as bait dogs up to my house. I've got guns and a backhoe. We'll take turns.

PS: Bring the dogs too. They should get to watch

Believe me I thought the same thing, especially after being around Hercules and Scout for just a minute. So sweet and gentle. It amazes me that dogs can go through things like mine have and still forgive and forget.
