Another Dealer Squashed by Economy
Well my buddy and I stopped at the local dealer today, the one I bought my 07 KLR from. The owner came up to us while we were silently taking in the scene. No new bikes to be found and only about half the inventory as usual. He told us that they couldn't keep up with the poor economy. The banks had quit lending and qualifying for loans, and his partner had lost a huge sum with the market and his Fla. business was about to tank also.
Long story short, our local Kawasaki dealer is shutting the doors. They were great guys to deal with. A rarity with dealers. I truly enjoyed shooting the bull with everyone there, and they always gave us great product support and no hassles.
On a side note, I was able to walk out of there with a $110 pair of boots for $25, and 6 qts. of oil for $12. He has a brand new battery charger that is set up to charge multiple batteries at one time or tend them. Normal price was $350, offered it me at his price of $172. I couldn't come up with enough to grab it, and in reality don't have that many batteries to keep charged up. Just thought I would pass that bit of info along. They will close the doors this Friday for good.
He was the only dealer around here that would let my friend and I both take out a brand new Concourse 1400 and ride it for however long we wanted, along with the Verysys, and same thing when I bought my KLR. Said ride it, and come back and I know you will buy it.
