Tools stolen :(

Had my tools stolen out of my garage sometime between Sunday and tonight. I live in an apartment complex with a locked, indoor, underground garage. I knew it was a risk but I kept my tools under my car. It's not much of a loss from a cost perspective, they were just a crappy Sear's mechanics tool set that I bought for $100 more than a decade ago. I had been slowly accumulating random things like breaker bars, torx sets, etc. and had even been working on my bike this weekend.

Anyway, just needed to vent Thanks for listening

Sears is closing lots of stores; has considerably discounted tools and tool sets in one store (only surviving store in a neo-defunct shopping center ("Landmark," VA DC suburbs)) nearby I visited yesterday.

Lots of neat tools; some I'm sure will, "Come in handy, even if you never USE 'em!"

Never had major tool theft while living in LA, but . . . someone stole my Corvette from my apartment parking stall in Silver Lake! (Silver Lake demographics have changed drastically over the years since. )

There's not much in the world that I despise more than a thief. And I become very attached to my tools. Some tools I own I have been working with daily for over 20 years. I would be gutted if I lost them.

If you have any tools with sentimental value, hit up the local pawn shops. It's a damn shame to think you'd have to buy your own tools back, but at least you know exactly what you're getting and at a cheaper price than new.

Good luck.
