Location: Riding around the USofA
I will ride again one day, but for now the piece of mind for my dad is worth me not riding.
On the other hand we are seeing much of the USA in the RV, and although I can't see the back country in the RV I can see a lot more of the USA through that big front windshield, and we do get to see the back country in the tracker.
I debated on taking up riding again (quit in 1977 due to a crash, time, kids, and money) in 04 after a cousin dumped a buel on a test ride. He wound up with a broken back and laid up for several months, but decided I wasn't him and I wanted to ride.
I put 38 K on my 04 KLR, but the desire wasn't near as strong after we went full time in the RV. Seeing the guys ride in the desert turned me off on off road riding, ( those guys are crazy). Then when My KLR was stolen in Dec I wandered if the man upstairs was telling me something. Then with another bike not turning up, (none that I looked at felt right like the KLR did) and hearing dad telling me about my brother was just too much.
Two wheels will always be in my heart, and I will ride again, but I am not ready to replace the KLR yet. A small "pit" bike will be easier to haul, and give me some of the two wheel fix we all like so much.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
