Leave it to the government

Leave it to the government to advise us to pretty much stay away from other people, then knock on my door, on a Sunday morning, doing a census after going house to house. That dude will have to come back since I yelled "Get the H off my property". They might want to reconsider going house to house right now. The count will be off anyway if this thing kills a bunch of us.

Kinda sounds like you abused the wrong person. Don't confuse the person who took a temporary job with "the government".

Be wary. Anybody can tape a "Census Bureau" sign on a black bag and walk around the neighborhood and try to get you to open your front door. They could be serial killers, they could be Jehovah's Witnesses.....

Take the Census right now, online. Then you won't have to answer the door for anyone.

Not really. He asked me the address (it's on a sign at the driveway) then told me he was going around on a Sunday morning because it pays better. Never ask my name or how many people lived here or anything. Just the address. He left me an envelope that would fit in my mailbox. That was his first trip up my driveway. The second trip he set off my driveway alarm for the second time. Dogs go nuts again, wife wakes up again. That's when he got my unwelcome message. I was pissed that he does this on Sunday because it pays better and he could have stuck it in my mailbox. I/we pay his salary and he picks Sunday so he can bill us more. That rubs me the wrong way.

Many of these people work for independent contractors, and they're not exactly high paying jobs.

At least, Toney, should you respond to the census, you won't have to disclose whether you're a CITIZEN or not!

I have heard of these guys pretending to be Government Workers going door to door but in reality they are criminals casing homes here on Hawaii. Usually they pretend to be salesmen. This is a new slant on an old trick.

Yes, anyone with access to this forum should be able to do it online. Super quick and just about as painless as can be.

It seems that the upshot of the whole census is that they want to know if you are Hispanic. Not much else, no working or not, own or rent, education level, do ya got a TV, not even a question about who yer driver is. Maybe they already know all that.

The wife and I are partial to Ky Bush and Ku Bush, if anybody wants to know.

We were at the last race that wound up being held this season, in Fontana. It was Jimmie Johnson's last race, so we rooted for him, just to be nice, to no avail. I have the T-Shirt.

We watched the NASCAR iRacing on TV last weekend. WTF, O? NASCAR Cartoon?

And now we have March Sadness. Thankfully they have not decided to make up for it with a Space Jam marathon...
