Looked at a 2006 Wing today...

Had the day off work today and spring fever is in full force with me so I went and had a peek at this 2006 Goldwing. It's way out of my price range (plus I don't like the air brushing) but I was told it had $13000 worth of accessories on it. Is that even possible??

I also got to have a peek at the 2013 candy green KLR, first 2013 I've seen in person. Beautiful bike! And it was parked right beside a new Super Tenere... I need to win a lottery!

I looked at a shiny new Harley today.

It was on the back of a trailer, off to some exciting adventure.

First of all who told you it had $13000 in accessories?? Those guys at E&S?? They don't know squat about Goldwings and they tend to exaggerate, they are dealers after all. If you are really interested in that bike I can put you in touch with the owner. What price does E&S have on it.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

Lol, I kinda figured the $13K was BS... I don't know anything about wing accessory prices but that seemed way out there even to me . The new salesman was telling me that (short older guy, never seen him before).

I remember seeing it on Kijiji before E&S took it on consignment, but I can't for for the life of me remember what he was asking for it. I thought it was originally listed at $16K? E&S is asking $20.

It is a really nice bike but in my opinion the airbrushing really takes away from it... If I was going to buy something like that I'd have to get it repainted right away at an added expense. What do you think it actually has for accessories, I was thinking in the $5k or so range?

Edit: Heck, I just looked at a few more on Kijiji... Looks like I'm way out on my $5K accessory estimate. Methinks these bikes are way out of my price range.

The one thing that is on the Goldwing that will set you back some big dollars is the Traxxion Dynamics Suspension but it is a great upgrade but pricey. Guess around $1500.

Another is the CB Radio which is a factory option that runs in the $1000 range.

Electric windshield is an aftermarket option. Probably expensive.

So ya it can add up fast. Lots of chrome on the bike and all that stuff is over priced.

Like anything else chrome and paint jobs are an acquired taste. I'm not into all this extra chrome, after all it's not a Harley.

The paint job doesn't bother me it doesn't look overdone. You could just replace the bag lids for a lot less than a paint job.

I don't remember the price on Kijiji either but when I saw it on there I thought the price was fair considering it was close to $30G when he bought it. You can see that the bike has been lovingly looked after.

If you are in the market for a Wing I'd look for a 1500.

Yup, I definitely think this would be the way to go. Heck of a lot closer to what I can afford anyway! Just have to wait for the right one to come along...
I think it's just spring fever on my part, I always want a new bike this time of year it seems! Lol!

The timing of this thread is just right for me. Mrs. Flash and I just got back from a little day excursion. While out we stopped at a Harley / Honda dealer just by chance of course . After looking around a while sales guys comes over and I jokingly tell him she wants an Ultra Glide and only needs to decide on a color. She points to a gold Gold Wing and says "that one". Whoda' thunk it?

Gray-haired riders donít get that way from pure luck.
