So I didn't buy a KLR...

I ended up with a 1999 DR350s. It was in the motorcycle repair/sales shop and the guy that owned it just had a complete go through of the bike from both tires being replaced to the exhaust being replaced to a complete tune-up/service on the mechanicals. The KLR's I had looked at were all more expensive (a lot more bike, I know…) and usually need work to be done to them. My friend would not come down in price for his KLR and while it rode great it did need a lot of little things. I already have one project (a 1957 Willy's Pick up that I am restoring.) I just want an affordable bike that I can take into the mountains...

That's cool. The main thing is you have a bike. That's the desired end result. Don't run away just because it isn't a KLR.

A good pickup in my opinion akalogan. I'd certainly ride one and if you were looking for a bike you can take up into the mountains, I think you found a damned good one.

The DR350 was the bike of choice for Austin Vince and his Mondo Enduro buddies.

Enjoy, man!

I think he and Lois are still riding DR350's? Don't quote me on that though, I've got the memory of a goldfish...

Actually, my goldfish memory was wrong... Lois's latest trips have been on a Yamaha XT225 Serow. My bad, I thought it was the DR. Methinks I need a reboot!

Lol!

It was fun getting on and test riding bikes that are the "same" but ride completely different. It was the first time in 4-5 years… ish that I had ridden at all. And now I own one… I am so happy I think I just poop a little… Maybe I am sharing a little too much?

That year of DR350 is worth some money. Great purchase.
