I've actually looked into them, they are pretty cool! They even have a dual sport model. Only bad thing is that they are wicked expensive! Especially if you option them out.

Wicked expensive, and limited range...

...those are the two biggest detractors for me. If I need to go into Salt Lake for any reason, I'm already looking at a minimum of 80 miles round trip - without any running around in the city.

My thinking is you younger riders had best be prepared to embrace the electric motorcycle because 25-30 years from now that's all you'll be able to ride. You'll need a special permit to acquire and operate a gasoline-powered motorcycle and that will only be for parades and getting to and from special events showcasing such ancient, obsolete and planet-destroying devices your forefathers ruined the Earth with......

I probably won't be around to collect on it, but I'd bet my next paycheck that by 2045 motorcycles powered by fossil fuels will be obsolete and unavailable in North America and that electric motorcycles will have advanced to the point their price, performance and range will make them viable, even far superior to today's machines, and anybody that grows up riding them won't even express an interest in the machines we ride today except as nostalgic pieces of history.

You're probably right on with that, planalp. Still, in the here and now, they don't fit my needs - or my budget.

I just bought a Zero DS45KW.

What is the best electrons to use in it?

I don't want to have to buy the expensive ones from the dealer; what are y'all using?

lol, Tom.

Electric bikes are definitely the future. That said, I also can't afford one and the technology isn't quite there yet charge wise. But it is most assuredly the future, and I can't wait.

Use Rotella.

I started my kids on a Razor MX500 e-dirt bike. It was a really nice bike for being considered a toy. I liked when I would ride it and then let off the throttle going downhill. Fast, smooth, quiet coasting.
Electric is cool, but I miss the sound, smell, vibrations.
