1994 klr 250 values,

I had a person bring in a really nice 94 klr 250 in my shop, it has only 2,600 miles on it, never been off road from the looks of it. i am servicing it to get it ready for the guy to sell it(original owner) used it for a campground runner and it looks almost showroom yet. we looked up the bluebook values and thought the values are kind of low for a bike in this condition 1,200-1,300 excellent condition what are your opinions on the bikes value? he was thinking of pricing it in the 1,800 to 2,000.00 range

I just sold an '01' XR250 that was used primarily offroad but was in good to excellent condition for $1500.
1200-1300 sounds about right to me, IMO.

well normally goes for close to $2000,,if can sell it !!.
BUT that bike is old an out dated.. klx 250 with electric start took its place...

so better off selling to some one on already has a klr 250 (for parts-back up bike) or a starter for a newbie rider..

at least just get most ,his money back out of it,,, but selling to make a profit.... ya good luck !!!

as for the xr ::: they hold there value better= as they still make that motor an frame .. maybe not as same bike,, BUT the parts are there,,,,motor swap, rims, any major part is stiil made,,, a new crf 250 off-road , is same bike(better shocks) as a older xr 250 !!!! so yes xr will be worth more than a 250klr!!!

I didn't realize that the 250 wouldn't hold their value unlike the 650s, i bought a 07 klr 650 new for 4,899.00 in summer of 07, rode it 2 years and it had just over 12,000 miles on it(7 oil/filter changes and 2 new tires at 10,600 miles) and i still got 4,250 for it when i sold it in late summer 09 to purchase an 09 650 versys.(awesome bike by the way) I told the guy to list it on craigslist and price it high to begin with, you can always come down on it later if you don't get any hits on it. or list it on fleabay

For any specific bike of a specific age, KBB uses a single Mileage in determining the value of your bike.

For instance, a 2003 in that size range is priced assuming it has 13,065 miles on it. I think 1800-2000 is fair for a bike in excellent condition with low miles....worst case, you knock the price down.
