1984 kl600 side stand nut

1984 kl600.
Side stand takes a special bolt and nut combo. I have a brand new side stand. I did not know it took a special nut. The one on the bike must be a later model. Having a problem finding the special nut. I will have to modify if i cant find one. I really dont want to do that. I've scoured ebay, but nothing. Anyone have one?

The only thing special about the kickstand pivot bolt nut is it is Thin & possibly has the spring steel 'Fuji-loc', self lock.

Just use Loc-Tite red, on a common nut.

If you have a kickstand on the bike (sounds like you do), the previous owner probably put a B stand on it.

The bracket for the A1 will be very rare, so I'd suggest that you make do with whatever is on there. If it is somehow damaged and non-serviceable, your best bet is to find another from an '85 or '86 B model.

PM me a picture of what you have and I'll post it up for you. Maybe we can think up a fix for whatever is wrong.

What occurs to me is that you might be able to find a shoulder bolt where the head will fit in the recess and the shoulder takes the place of the bracket's threaded bushing, then just nut the back of it. Or it might be possible to simply find a long enough Allen bolt and a thin-wall spacer instead of a shoulder bolt.

Thanks for the response.

Tom,
not sure how to pm you. I'm new to this. Sorry for the hassle. Could you help with that?
Thanks, Tim
