Front wheel from other KLR:s on a C model

Hi,

I got a 1999 KLR650C and I want to have two sets of wheels to easely change on the bike, one set of wheels with rough off road tyres and anoter set of wheels with allround tyres or mabye spike tyres in the winter.

I have found a rear wheel to the C model on eBay but I haven't found a front wheel yet. Is there anyone that knows what difference there is between the A, B Tengai, the Gen 2 KLR650 and the C models front wheels?

I know that the C model got larger diameter on the brake disc than the A model but can you put the bigger 650C brake disc on the 650A wheel hub, have the center hole and the bolt holes the same patten on the A, B and C model?

If you can fit the bigger C brake disc to an A or B wheel hub do the the brake disc be in the right place for the brake caliper?

Hope you understand my english, I'm from Sweden so it not the best.

The 650C rims are made of steel, all other models have aluminium rims.
They are all interchangeable and will all take the 280mm 650C / Tengai brake disk.
The front rim on A, C and E models is 1,6 inches wide, only the mothership knows why the Tengai got a 1,85 inch rim.

I have a KLR600 front rim for sale that would fit your purpose perfectly. The difference here is that the brake rotor uses different screws and needs nuts to fasten the disk. That was changed in 1987 when the hub was drilled and tapped to use bolts only.

Hope that helps.

Okay, so it just the steel, aluminium rim and the size of the brake disc that's the difference between the A, C and E. When I look on my stock C rim it is stamped J21X1.85DOT on the side of the rim so I think the C rim is 1.85" wide.

I might have find a C wheel now but if its not right your rim seems intressant. Do you have any pictures of the rim and what will the prize be? I also need from and rear brake rotors for the C model so I don't have to change other components than the wheels when I change from offroad to alround wheels.
