Thumbs up Ridin the Hoh

So, the 10-12th of June ALT Rider is putting on a ride in the Hoh rainforest, as an instructor for PSSOR (Puget Sound Safety Off Road) I got invited to give a quick discussion, my choice of topics and I chose traction management. We'll be discussing body position, brake usage, and of course, clutch management (the "Gray" area). I've never met Jeremy or Christina, but they both sounded enthusiastic and knowledgable so I am expecting one heck of a good time. If anyone is interested I think they still have openings, go to ALTRider.com and check out their upcomings rides. Yes, they do sell motorcycle things, and extremely limited on KLR items, I'm hoping to convince them to expand what they offer, which would be really nice as they are a Seattle based outfit.
Anyone else going? If not I will be sure to post up a report and hopefully by then I will be able to post up pics of the Hoh and all her wonder.

Hey, I got in two shameless plugs, one I'll vouch for %100 and the other I'll report back on To keep this free of advertisement, if you have any questions feel free to PM me and I'll answer any questions you may have. I'll keep the rest of my posts in this topic on topic, I done screwed up once today and made the egregious error of posting a reply in the wrong thread, almost felt like I was riding some big noisy v twin with lots of chrome and loud pipes. Went to remove the chaps and realized they was all I had on

Son, that event sounds like fun with a free riding class. You could have come to NorCal Tech Daze 2011 in Etna CA on June 10-12. You would be the 48th rider to commit. Maybe next year you can give a class at NorCal Tech Daze 2012.

ALTrider is going to become richer come August when the Yamaha Super Tenere is released.

Id do more but I am the primary care giver for my father, he is in the advances stages of Alzheimers----I think?

As I get my brother more involved I will have more time and I'd love to head down South, just so long as you promise no trip digit temps.
ANy class I give I always seem to learn as much as the class does, I usually open a topic and help guide it along, then coach as needed. Most people have no idea of what they are doing-bad habit wise- they just ride with what works, even if it could be better. Here lately I have really started enjoying slow technical stuff in poor traction areas, really makes a person appreciate the clutch and body position. My left index and middle finger are growing to the size of my wrist!!! I am about ready to find a hydraulic setup, I'd like something I could use just one finger, I could tackle some really knarly stuff then.

Sorry to hear your father has Alzheimers. Tough job but not without love. You are a good person Son of Pappy. Give him a hug, he will remember that.

NorCal Tech Daze 2011 will be blessed with sunny skies and mid 70's temps.

Not to detract from the thread, but as somebody who took care of his mother as she suffered through dementia in her early 80's, I greatly admire you. You are, indeed, a good person and good son, Son of Pappy. You are wise to continue on with your interests as that situation can seem to consume and override everything else and that's the last thing the person you're caring for would have wanted. I wish you well. You are to be commended.

Currrently there are 48 riders committed and 9 Raffle Gift Sponsors. There are probably a $1,000 in raffle prized being offered.
