WABDR in July

Heading out to ride 4 of the 6 sections beginning with section 2(Packwood). Still in the process of working out some time off with work, most likey 3days(Fri, Sat, Sun) around mid July.

This will be my first time out so I'll be taking it slow and easy. Planning to tent overnight, take lots of pictures and just take in all the beautiful scenery I keep hearing about from those that have ventured out on this trail system.

Anyone else planning to do this in July?

This is something I am planning to do sections of sometime this summer. I just got my new KLR about a month ago and am slowly adding upgrades. Upgrades so far: Extended windscreen, gel seat, trunk and saddlebags, PD Nerg engine guards. The next one I am planning is a front suspension upgrade.

I too like to take it easy as I am not as young and "invunerable" as I used to be.

If not this time, maybe at a later date, probably after I am done with at least the front fork upgrade. I am 6'5" and weigh in at around 270#, so the stock suspension is very inadequate.

I am planning a road trip for sometime next summer also around the North Cascades Loop. Hwy 20 then back on Hwy 2, with some offroad exploring along the way.

Hey Greyfox, congrats on your purchase and a wise one at that! I have found the KLr to be a very reliable and fun bike to own, now that I have the suspension all sorted out.
Ricor intiminators and progressive rate springs will completely change the way the bike handles both on and off road.

The North Cascade Loop is an amazing way to see what our great state has to offer. As a matter of fact, I did this one today. It was definitely a scorcher especially on hwy 97 and Wenatche but not bad if you stay hydrated and cool.

I'll be heading out on the 26th for my WABDR trip if your plans change.
