Trip to Southern Oregon

My wife and I are planning to come up to Southern Oregon in mid-October. I have not been there since I was a kid. I was thinking of Coos Bay, or the Medford area. We ride two up, so extreme stuff is out of the question, but we would like to get on some back roads and explore. So the question is where should we go? AND who's in for some riding?

Let me know Oregonions!!

Mark,
I am over in Klamath Falls, Hwy 62 from Medford to Crater Lake is a nice ride. Crater Lake will probably have snow starting in October. Check with Larry Boy he used to live in the are you will be in.
If you make it to Medford area during the weekday I might be able to ride over and meet up with you for a bit.
We will have or 2 1/2 year old grandson for three weeks and will be out of town every weekend.

Brrr..mid-October is gonna be cold. Be careful of ice in the mornings. Go see the Oregon Caves and the Smith River canyon and the big redwoods. Crater Lake will be sketchy by then. You can go up 62 and see the river gorge and natural bridge. Dead Indian Springs Road out of Ashland is cool. Poke around Ashland they have cool old hippies like you there.

Mark,
Take a look at these.

It has been a little cooler than average this year but not too bad. Medford will probably be in the mid 70's maybe a little more. It will get cooler the higher you go in elevation, it also will cool off earlier in the evening. Don't for get to bring your wet whether gear.

It can be mid to low 30's at night, slowly warming to 50 by noon. Like Craig said, it will hit 70, but only for a few short hours then it's dark. It's not a bad thing, you just need to plan ahead. We're a little spoiled here.

Not even, when we were working on Walter's yard, it was already TOO hot in the morning when we started.
