I've been thinking of a ride out that way myself. Been on the "Sun" road several times in cages. Might not be my destination but there is a lot of great routes in between. Looking for company?

Al I rode Lolo pass last year, really cool area. Stayed the night in Lewiston had one of the biggest burgers I have ever seen. Thats really pretty country up there.

You start with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. Hopefully you fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Ha you must have eaten at Effies tavern a local icon. You must ride next time up the southfork of the Clearwater river, turn at Kooskie and ride the highway up to Elk city and then Redriver Ranger station and on to Dixie. you can stay there might get some food at Elk city just in case nothing is open at Dixie. there is a rv lot as you enter Dixie equiped with showers. cheap to stay. then ride down to White Water on the Salmon river and back nice country. but dont tell anyone. I helped build the Rv lot years ago. I will most likely be up there again this summer. I want to ride the Mcgruder trail from Redriver to Montana, about 100 miles.

I think you got it. Wow Im impressed. I hoping to have a few weeks to tour this summer and want to make my way to Glacier, maybe I can swing by your RV park on the way. I enjoyed Lolo so much I cant go up there without doing it again.

I dont know which way you will come up but its about 100 river miles from Kooskie to Dixie. there are lots of roads around there. watch out for cars on the road to Dixie its a narrow windie road. and no gaurd rails, Its fun

You should ride the Elk City Wagon Road if you are heading to Elk City/Dixie.

There is also a really nice ride from Elk City to the Selway.

I live at Arrow Junction, about 12 miles east of Lewiston. e-mail me any time you want to do a ride. I ride all over the Blue Mountains, Hell's Canyon, North Fork, South Fork, St. Joe.
