Rides

Hey, just got a KLR and know a few other KLR riders. I would be your basic beginner rider but am interested in some rides, especially when it warms up a bit. Springfield Oregon.

Talking So. Oregon Klr'er

New to this site. Got an '08. Love it, but am afraid of getting too crazy off road. How easy is it to break the fairing? How expensive is it to repair? I've been on logging roads and river rock, but the stock tires are slick as snot on most loose stuff. I have 4,500 mostly highway to work miles and will look for new tires in the spring. Stockers have performed well, but would love to explore more. Any suggestions?

If you are worried about the fairings look at the PD nerf bars at happy-trail.com they also have good luggage frames. I have had good luck with Metzeler tourance tires. A great road tire with good light off road capability.
