I'm too far away to go for a ride, but I'll give some advice.
The drive chain needs to be loose enough to 'Almost Touch' the rear tip of the rubber slider Under the swingarm when lifted with your finger or toe. Most New KLR's are adjusted Too Tightly.
The Headlight focus is usually Too High! Remove the windshield. The Vertical adjuster is at Top Left. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver as a 'pinion gear' in the toothed wheel adjuster. Turn the screwdriver righty-tighty, which turns the adjuster Lefty-Loosey, which allows the spring to push the headlight focus Down.
It usually take a lot of turning, 4 teeth on a screwdriver, probably 24 teeth on the adjuster wheel.
Check your engine oil level Every Day! With the bike Level in Both directions, just like an car. We don't run our car engines at 4000-6000 RPM. Our engines can use some oil at these RPM's. Keep oil level Full.
Snug your exhaust header nuts and all exhaust mounts, from front to rear. Now! And again at 500 mile Break-in Maintenance. 15 ft. lbs.
