2009 blue KLR 650 1,600 miles
I bought the KLR 650 with the intention of replacing my KLR 250 (which I loved). On my first few rides I noticed that riding the KLR 650 felt much like riding the 250..with a few exceptions. The KLR 650 is "obviously" more powerful, the suspension is much better, and the 650 acutally feels lighter that the 250 when it is moving.
I have done a few long distance rides (including a little jeep trail fun with a passenger). In the twisties, the bike will trick you into thinking that it has a 17 inch front wheel and low bars.
This bike just performs beautifully no matter what I throw at it. With a passenger I can cruise along on the highway (between 60 and 90 mph) with ease. The bike feels very stable and has ample power for doing this. On my 500 mile 4th of July adventure I got 52 mpg....that was at 70-80 mph with a 110 lb passenger and 20 lb of luggage. All of this and NO OIL USAGE!
. My only farkle so far is a 16 tooth cs sprocket. Got mine form moose racing. I am so impressed with the KLR 650 that...I think I will sell my car.
Buy a KLR 650..or pretty much any Kawasaki motorcycle. You will not regret it. Thumbs up for Kawasaki.
