Jon's 2005 KLR

I think that I have made the 15 post minimum so technically this should work!

Here is my new to me 2005 KLR with about 4,400 miles in very light off-road conditions:

and on the road:

I've only owned this cycle for a few weeks and I am already obsessed with it!

Here is my other "ride". A 2000 Royal Enfield Bullet, kick start, right side shift:

and here's a shot of my ugly mug on the RE:

Sweet rides! I love the Enfield! Thank you kindly for sharing the pics with us . I've tossed around the idea of an Enfield many times (that and Ural's). The KLR looks pretty much mint, very well taken care of. I'm jealous of the no snow thing, I've got about a foot of the stuff... Lol

Jon -

The KLR looks fine.

Now, the Enfield - we need to accessorize that.

The jacket is good, but you need a proper motorcycle cap. The we need to find you a trophy to strap onto the headlight.

RE's are so cool.

So now that you have the KLR, can I have your RE? Please?

Thanks, 650Stew! The Enfield is a fun ride but it requires CONSTANT tinkering. In the true thumper tradition it likes to shake itself to pieces! Still though don't let that deter you. It's fairly reliable, pulls like a tractor, and could probably circle the globe if you didn't ever exceed 50 mph.

No snow yet but it's been getting cold. Was going to ride the KLR today but it was only about 20F with the windchill. I'll ride in the cold, always have, but it's got to be a little bit warmer. Supposed to be around 40F tomorrow so I will be certain to take advantage!

Too funny, Tom! Actually I would very much like to change my RE to look something more like this '48 Bullet:

Sorry Lockjaw. Many times I have considered letting the RE go but as slow and finnickey as it is I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Still plenty of the ol' pre-unit iron barrels to be had for the aspiring Bulleteer!

I bet a lot of heads turn when you ride around on that Enfield. Nice KLR, also!

3 1/2 year old thread. OP hasn't been back since 2013. Love the Enfield though.

Speaking of Enfields..

Oh ! Well ! as long as we're highjacking this thread.. I might as well mention my desire to try one of these if they make it to the US.
