Grandpa Smurf's new ride

Hey,I couldn't find black.

Just scored the 2008 used with brand new MEFO Explorer tires and bark busters.
$3500.

Got it to check on my cows and horses about twice a week "250 miles round trip"
My dually Cummins 4x4 can eat $100. dollar bills getting there and back.

IH-10 is 80 mph legal
but I think I will keep it below 5000. rpms

I have had almost every kind of scooter there is
started out with a Rupp mini bike
went to ossa/penton/bulltacos/kawas/hondas for offroad
then for years buying the fastest production street bikes and voiding warranties by souping them up and weekend warrior dragracing.
At over 240lbs there was always a small guy blowing past me......what like 2/10ths of a second for every 100lbs added?
Owned Harleys and goldwings at the same time.

That said,I LOVE my new to me KLR!!!
Way lighter than a boxer and on the wallet too.

Thanks!

As a former ASE cert. master tech "on auto/truck"
I cant wait.

I put a magnetic drain plug on it,
how long should I wait to do the timing chain tension mod?

Fork brace and fender lowering in the works now,and because of reading here
a 2" clearance from the tire.

Thanks!

I rode to San Antonio in the rain yesterday.
I told the wife I need to warm it up to change the oil.

Nice! The best mod I did to mine was a taller windshield. I went with the laminar lip 'cause thats what a bud had and I liked it.
For your longer commutes I'd suggest a 16t front sprocket. Some love it, some hate it, but its cheap enough to find out. I really like it!
