Everett Flood Control Dam

Had a nice ride exploring the back roads behind the Everett Flood Control dam in East Weare, N.H.

BTW: It's home to the "Hopkinton Everett Multi-Use Trail" A very nice off road trail through the woods in the flood control area. The best part, it's open to 2 wheelers!!

DeltaWolf and popete like this.

Larry,
It looks like during flood season your bike would be about 30 feet deep!

I've lived in this area all my life. When I was in high school, the senior, and junior boys would respond with the volunteer fire fighters to help with brush/forest fires. The main road between Weare, and Concord N.H. went right through here.

After they put this dam in, I think in late 1950's, this flooded over in late spring. I canoed all around here. Through trees, and you could look down and see pavement under water.

The bath houses, built up on a piece of high ground, were completely under water.

Yes! my KLR would have needed a snorkel! OR maybe a periscope.

Got lucky, and caught a few riders on camera.
