Losing yet another motorcycle publication

I wasn't sure where I should post this but here goes. I'm not sure how many of you guys subscribe to motorcycle publications but I subscribe to three of them: Roadracing World, Cycle World and Motorcyclist. Well, today I was notified that Motorcyclist will no longer be published and Cycle World would be taking over. I used to receive Sport Rider magazine but they stopped their publication not long ago as well. Yet another motorcycle publication is no more. A sign of the times I guess. Too bad I really like thumbing through the magazines while setting on the back porch on Saturday mornings or setting out in front of the garage on a sunny afternoon after dinner. Much better than trying to read a publication on a laptop or smart phone!?!?!? I always enjoyed reading articles regarding test rides and reviews of new motorcycles, tech issues both old and new and adventure rides by the publications authors.

Thanks for all the great publications Motorcyclist.

Bike Magazines.

I currently subscribe to Motorcycle Consumer News, and Rider. FWIW (2 each his own.)

Neither are perfect, but do have some good info, if you take Journalism Style with a grain of salt.
It's to bad they all push top performance, and newest gimmicks in their reporting of a bike. I would like to see more reviews on products not costing top dollar.
( Comparing $500.00 and up helmets just leave me out of the purchasing any such products. Not a rich man, and never will be.)

I dis-continued my magazine subscriptions some years back. Used to read 5 mags a month cover to cover, for about 30 years.

Motorcyclist was the First, received as a gift for Christmas in about 1972.

I just got my card in the mail yesterday also. Even though the new publisher cut it to 4 times a year, I still enjoyed reading it.

Sorry about the disappearance of Motorcyclist. The, "Print World" suffers many casualties, nowadays--lots of publications, including newspapers as well as magazines, can't maintain financially-sustaining subscriber and advertiser bases.

By contrast, Adventure Motorcycle Magazine (ADVMoto), with both print and digital presence, appears thriving: https://adventuremotorcycle.com/

FULL DISCLOSURE: No employee nor investor, I sometimes contribute a word or two to the enterprise.

Finally, . . . anyone besides ME remember Cycle Magazine? Publication began even BEFORE Cycle World; please don't suggest the format involved engraved stone tablets! Cycle didn't come THAT long ago; publication began sometime AFTER Gutenberg!

O.K. Maybe you don't know Cycle, but I bet you've heard of CLYMER!

Dropping motorcycle mags is bad enough, but on a more serious note apparently MAD magazine is pretty much going away. Like "Weird Al" said, "It's pretty much the reason I turned out weird." Amen, Weird Al. I don't even want to know how many hours I spent in my youth reading MAD. That and National Lampoon.............

Yes, I subscribed to Cycle back in the day. It was one of my first mags I subscribed to when I started street riding in my 20's.

Sorry to hear about MAD going away. I was reading MAD when my friends were reading comic books.
