Tour de Tellico VII

What: Tour de Tellico VII
Where: Cherohala Motorcycle Resort www.cycleresort.com
When: May 18-20 (Always 3rd weekend)
Who: Will mostly be KLR's, but all are invited!

I just got off the phone with Mark at CMR......... and this is how it will go down:

TDT-VII group will pay individually.........just like we used to. If you are camping in any sort of way, it is $10 per person/per night! And YES, that even includes RV's/trailers/pop-ups! No more problems with not able to bring your toy hauler, etc.!!!!! And again, it is just $10 per person/per night!

If you want one of the 5 remaining cabins...... it is double occupancy and is $50 total/per night!

Mark is difinitely going to be there for Friday and Saturday nights, but he said that if we have any early birds (Thurs), he can give me the keys to the place and I will live the dream of owning a Motorcycle Campground for a day.........

Excited about TDT and all the other rallys we have this year!!! Make plans to attend a few of them, and we will catch up with you then!!!

Keep Loving Rides!

Thanks. Really hope I can make it down. Did the tornado effect the trails?

TOURS

It looks like second to KLRs........are the VStroms! So we should have plenty of mild rides for those looking for some great FS roads and twisty pavement!!!!!

I will lead rides every day.........it will look like this:

DAY_________TOUR_______DEPART_____RATING
Thursday___Early Bird Ride____10am & 2pm___2.5
Friday______Hooligan Ride_____9:30_________4.0
Saturday___Cherokee Classic___9:30_________2.0
Sunday_____Dead End Tour____9:30_________3.5

TellicoTim and I will be riding together on the early bird, but I believe he has plans to lead a ride on Friday and possibly Sat.

Tagalong normally leads, so he may be available if needed.

I believe Steve could lead a milder ride of VStroms/KLRs........also, woodsatyr said that she can lead some, too!

There is no shortage of riding for anyone...........so grab a friend and let's ride!!!!

There are a bunch of you out there that normally makes this ride.......where are my friends???? Hope to see ya there!

Weather is looking GREAT!!!! and with the rain coming in earlier in the week......this could be epic riding!

Self-guided, 'Grab a Few Friends' tours: 3 ways to use these maps - 1)Download .gpx file (bottom of post), 2)key in the coords. from maps into your GPS or 3)just print off the map. Text in Yellow shows what order the points are in.

You can use this gps file converter if you need a different file type...http://www.tracegps.com/en/gpsbabel/convert.htm

Fires Creek WMA Tour - I know WMA normally stands for 'Wildlife Management Area', but in this case it really should stand for 'Wonderful Motorcycle Adventure'!!! Note: Bald River Falls is listed on just a few of these rides, but due to it's location and high scenic factor, it can be added into just about any Ride. (N35 19 27.44, W84 10 37.29) Also, FS61 (not on my software, but around N35 19 35.56, W84 2 27.04) will take you to Whigg Meadow.

Here are a few Routes for your GPS!

On the Saturday ride, I will be leading the Cherokee Classic.....a mild and scenic ride on some of the best forest service roads suitable for everyone, and one of my favorites ever. We will be able to get my route in before I have to take off for a concert I am volunteering in that night. It is a Steven Curtis Chapman concert held just 30 minutes from camp. If anyone is interested you can get your tickets at: http://www.athenschamber.org/ Tickets range from $10-$25. It is over around 8pm.

I'm not sure if you guys know, but his ministry 'Show Hope', helped us out with some scholarship money when we adopted Mr. Carson! They also used a pic of Heather and Carson I sent in, for their video they made for the Veggietales movie, 'It's a Meaningful Life'!

Here is the video.......Heather and Carson are at 2:06!
