Any KLR's in or around Athens GA?

Hi everyone, I'm new around here. I live in Athens GA. I currently have a Kawasaki ZR550 street bike. It's currently for sale. I'm thinking of going the dual sport route. Of course I like the BMW dual sport bikes but don't have that kind of budget. Are there any KLR owners in Athens GA? I've seen a few on the roads and parked downtown. I'd like to hook up with you and talk KLR's. I'm looking for a nice used KLR but won't be able to purchase until I sell my current bike. Anybody out there?? thanks....

any klr's in or around athens, ga?

Great08, moose, tdissen and hondavfr.
I used to live in tucker, ga. and had a shop in clarkston for 20 yrs.
I am in Jasper, GA now, I have a motorcycle repair shop, and I commute on an '08 klr.

I have been doing upgrades to my suspension and realy improved the quality of ride and handling. I have windsheilds, and mini skid plates for the late model klr's.
If you need anything for your bikes, let me know.
Let's do some riding this winter.

'08 KLR650,
'72 BMW R75/5 (Col. Klink),
'02 KTM 400 E/XC,
'05 ktm 125 sx (for sale)

"Hey, are you okay? Can you get up?
I thought you said you could ride"

All the best

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have moved to Columbia, SC for a full-time teaching position. I do get back that way from time to time. Take care and stay safe. B.

Live in Athens, have a decently farkled '05 KLR on which I hope to do a bit more dual sporting...but haven't found anybody with whom to do that. Any North Georgia mountain experts want to take on educating a noob for a project?

Meantime I did the length of Baja and back last January (solo, all highway) and will be going back with friends this January.

I'd be happy to show you around the street part of N GA when I'm back. I have since moved to Columbia, SC for work but I get back at least once a month for riding. You can email me directly if you'd like. I also have a sportbike so I tend to ride in a sporting fashion. B. [email protected]
