Tour de Tellico - III, May 16-18

Well, it's that time of year where we play around on the State Line.

For those of you who are not sure what I'm talking about, everyone is invited to gather at Cherohala Motorcycle Resort http://www.cycleresort.com/ for the 3rd Annual Tour de Tellico ride. The campground is just outside of Tellico Plains, TN and is the jumping-off point of many great rides that we will be arranging in the mountains along the TN/NC line. There's going to be many different rides for various terrain levels (see http://klrworld.com/forums/index.php?topic=2799.0), so that people can pick their favorite riding style.

Look forward to seeing everyone again, and meeting all the first-timers!

The next 4 months will go by fast, so everyone get ready!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone!

Is there anyone coming to TDT-III?

So far, out of the 4 forums I post on, there are 123 riders that have posted up. Most are 'Definite', with some of them as 'Trying'.

Looks like it's going to be the biggest one yet!!!!!

Not everyone is staying at the same place, but most people will meet over at CMR for various rides, whether guided or self-guided. There should be plenty of room in the front yard to organize the groups.

The count for TDT-III stands at around 132. This includes the 'Definites' and the 'Tryings', but not the passengers..... So, who knows what the total will be....... Riders are patroning several campgrounds in the area.....

Still working on maps and GPS Routes for those riders wanting to ride the area in smaller groups....... but while you wait, check out several that python423 has made over the past year or so..... They cover mostly eastern TN. Thanks for the hard work, Greg......

Guys,

Saturday night, the ladies at Cherohala Motorcycle Resort are cooking hamburgers for large numbers. Here is the post from paintdoc:

As Chuck has previously reported, Mark and Renee have been busy making numerous improvements to Cherohala Motorcycle Resort since we were there last year. One of these is a full time kitchen run by a lady named Laurie. She will have breakfast (starting at 7am), lunch and dinner made to order during our Tour. That will be very convenient for most of us as we head out in the morning or after we return from a hard day of riding. Since this a new endeavor, please make sure to support this effort and try to plan as many meals as possible at the Resort. Also remember to be patient as this is a pretty large group to prepare meals for. Keep it neat, clean up after yourselves (unless your brought your moma to do it for you) and help out whenever you can. Let's help make this a big success!

Arrangements have been made for a group meal on Saturday night from 6-8pm. It will consist of a cheeseburger (or hamburger), drink and 1 side order for $7.00. The sides available are pasta salad, baked beans, fried okra, french fries, and potato chips. Extra sides are $1.50 each. Since Laurie will have her hands full with the group meal she will not take individual food orders on Saturday night. So if you want to participate in the exuberance of a festive group meal, please post up or forever hold your peace! Please understand if you indicate you want a meal you will be expected to pay for it or you will be dispatched by a firing squad forthwith! So a note of prudent advice; do not order for friends unless you are ready to pay for their meal if they don't eat or show up!

IMPORTANT: DEADLINE TO PLACE A MEAL REQUEST FOR SATURDAY NIGHT IS SUNDAY, MAY 10TH!
(I must let Laurie know our group meal plans by Monday the 11th.)

Thanks, and sorry for the short notice,

Paint Doc

If you are eating, let me know here.....
