Hiwassee River Run

Woke up this morning and thought.....it sure would be a nice day to get our for a few hours on the KLR. I couldn't get too far off because the Final 4 was on at 6pm, starting with my wife's team Michigan State ( it wasn't pretty). Well.......not long into the morning, I get a text from yotaman423.......he didn't want to waste this nice day, either.......so, we decide to hit some neat local roads around Hiwassee River! We needed some lunch, so that is where our trip starts.........

Stop by Willies to get some BBQ

This may come as a shock, but I didn't get a pic of my BBQ Spud We did enjoy our lunch with another rider friend, Richard, but he was working today.

I did get a nice pic of this outhouse.........without the smell.

We start taking some cool dead end backroads after lunch......this is a house on a tobacco plantation. Just sold, I believe, to our county's richest entrepreneur.

Reminds me a little of Little House on the Prairie fields.....

The next few pics are of a stop by a local train track. These KLR 650's are 25 years old (Andy's on left) and 20 years old (mine on right) this year!

Glamour Shot of Barbie!

We have been riding around Hiwassee River for most of the trip......thus the name of the Run!

Another dead end into the Advent Home.

Many of our roads were like this today...........

Hiwassee River cuts through that pass in the mountain.....Reliance is beyond the pass.

We saw a mill stone below us beside this creek.

Very old house.....heading back to my house.

Love this ribbon of road!

Last pic..........Andy enjoying the scenery!

It was short, but was just what the doctor ordered!!!

I had the white IMS on my bike for over 5 years...ending up getting the translucent white one after the rebuild, and letting Andy have it next.

Great pics. I am envious of the Barbie. Always liked that color scheme.

Sounds good, Mike! Check out the Sequatchie Valley Days Rally coming up in 2 weeks. It will be a small group....probably a dozen or so. Where off of 58 do you live?
