TAT NC to East coast?

Thinking of riding the tat from Asheville NC to the East coast. Has this been done by anyone here or would like to ride this. Dave

Has the Trans-America Trail (TAT) been extended eastward from its revised eastern starting point at Tellico Plains, TN?

I have ridden it straight through to Port Orford, OR on the Pacific twice. I start at Kitty Hawk on the outer banks of North Carolina and follow North Carolina Bicycle Route #4 from Elizabeth City to Sparta and then head west to the start of the TAT.

In three weeks I am headed out to Green River, UT to ride the TAT to the Pacific and finish it for a third time done piece meal.

I'll be happy to give you any information that may be helpful.

Hi Gomotor, looking at the maps that gpskeven has on his site it looks like part of the parkway then other roads to the outer banks. I am looking at this route to make my way to DC to see the sites there. Dave

I see. Two different routes. Both called TAT. I got my maps from Sam Correro a long time ago and that's the TAT I ride.

Enjoy your ride. I rode some of the Blue Ridge and Skyline on the way up to Canada for the Trans-Canada Adventure Trail. I enjoyed both. The speed limits are a little slow, but it was nice to get out of the tree canyons that the low roads are and get up on some elevation with some long views.
