TDP-III Scheduled Tours!

We are starting to organize the scheduled rides for Tour de Pisgah! Here is what we have so far.......

Message from Ridir Frith:

Thurs evening

ELK RUN, not the name of a trail, a good mix of gravel and paved road. We will visit the Elk in Catalochee at the Great Smokies, the Elk are considerate and I have never missed seeing them. Suitable for everyone http://www.nps.gov/grsm/naturescience/elk.htm

Friday
Hooligan: Yep, you guessed it wild terrain. We will break into small groups, we will group by riding style. This will be for those who want to ride and ride fast, forget picture taking at the creek crossing, just twist and go! There are those KLR riders of near devine abilities (holycaveman, rooster, chuck) who will probaly want to join this group of bark burners. More conservative paced riders will depart in 20 minute intervals .

Vampire ride: For those who arrive late, there will be a night tour in Transylvania County, plan to stop for supper on this route, parkway, pavement and forest roads. Laid back pace, suitable for everyone. Depart around 5:30 (If it is really dry, we may modify the route. Headlights don't work well in the dark and dust)

Saturday

Mels Revenge: Every surface know to man! You will turn some miles on this ride, truly a taste of everything we have to offer in this one ride, one brief NASTY 4.5 section over in TN. Traction is not as big a concern as you have a skid plate, you will probaly case on at least one of the ledges. If you are only able to ride on Saturday, this is your ride.

TWIST AND SHOUT
Motard riders, big sport tours and those just wanting some curves and scenery this is for you. Lots of curves, the parkway, backroads and a good lunch spot.

Provided the campground approves, supper will be served again this year compliments of The Christian Motorcyclists Association Chapter in Hendersonville, NC

Sunday

Homeward Bound Tour will included Tellico Gap, FS 711, Rainbow Springs Rd., and Tusquitee Gap. This is a perfect ride for the loaded down bikes that still want to see the sights and some excellent FS roads. A must for those heading back west.....

As more ride leaders get mapped and prepared, we can add them to this master list. Depart times and ride leaders will be added as finalized. I know Chuck is working on some stuff and I bet Yellow Jacket will offer his services. OK locals, lets put on a show for our friends from the SE forum, call out your rides.

Keep Loving Rides!
