What started out as a bunch of riding pals getting together on my (normally solo) annual fall ride back home in Alabama, in 2009....has led to the 7th Bama Jama Ride out at tagalong's folk's lake lot! This year, a storm passing through on Saturday, had us enjoying the beauty of NE Alabama in more ways then riding on 2 wheels!
Friday, I didn't get to come down and ride due to staying back in TN with a sick daughter. But, the journey began that evening. I swung by and loaded up yotaman423 and his bike and after meeting up with Heather to hand off the kids, and then eat an awesome meal at Andy's mom's place in Chattanooga, we were rolling to Bama Jama! We dropped by Brad's place to unload the bikes.........shot the bull a bit........then headed on to stay at my folk's place, 15 minutes away. Camping is nice, but sleeping in the bedroom you grew up in is SWEET!
Saturday we got up and headed to meet up with the crew. It was tagalong, BamaDirtPilot, yotaman423, my brother Lance, and myself. The rain had held off until a few minutes before we finished with a great breakfast! After suiting up.......checking the radar for the 23rd time........we decided to do our on thing for the day and hope for the best for Sunday! Since tagalong and BamaDirtPilot had ridden the day before, BDP (Jim) needing to work his way south back to Alabaster. My brother went home to catch up on some things. Brad had some stuff to take care of as well. So, I decided to play the tour guide and take Andy to some key sights and also stop by the local dealership. A few hours later we stopped by and picked up Brad and some of his family and go climb through the rocks at Cherokee Rock Village! That night we hung out watching some college football, before Andy and I heading back to my folks to finish the night watching more football!
Sunday was a cooler, cloudy, and windy day for a ride..............which was still AWESOME! I will say, one great thing about no shiny sun is that it is easier to see the road with no constant sun, shade, shadows, sun, shadows, shade. The riding and fellowship was great as usual! We had 6 riders for the day......tagalong, yotaman423, telejojo, fishey, Lance, and myself!
I want to thank, of course, Brad and his family for all that they do to make us feel welcome at their place! They are top notch! It's always a good time!
My pics are way out of order for some reason............photobucket freaked out on me........so..............here are my pics (and a few other's), in no particular order...........ENJOY!
