Lookout Mountain...........a decade later!

It has been 10 years since I posted my first ride report on the forums. It was my 2006 Fall Trip to my folks place along Lookout Mtn. After looking for some time, I haven't been able to find that report.........probably due to the times of data lost. Well.......I do still have the pics, so I decide to add some of them into this report. My 2006 ride was closer to Halloween, but due to the extended heat this year, the colors aren't much further along.

Saturday Nov. 19 2016.....being bummed that Cuhutta DS Ride wasn't happening due road closures because of nearby fire...... Scott, Richard, and I took a nice ride on and around Lookout Mtn! After a very brief morning shower, the day became a really beautiful time to get out and see the sights. The only fire that was close to us was near Sulfur Springs Rd. Hope you enjoy the report!

Where, o where, is that, "Best Catfish Restaurant?" I MUST know!

I had a girlfriend once (Runner-up, Miss [Large Southern Capital City]) who told me she had visited Lookout Mountain, but she was disappointed.

Why disappointed?

She said she was supposed to be able to see seven (I think) states from the viewing area, but could only see FIVE.

I jest (although telling a true story).

Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures of such a beautiful section of the USA, Cherokee Chuck!

EDIT: My anecdote involved Lookout Mountain, TN. If this thread addresses another, "Lookout Mountain," my error and irrelevant musings.

Is Lookout Mountain the highest point in Alabama?

If so, I have actually been there. On a cold, rainy/foggy day with a lady friend who was stationed at Ft. McClellan back in about Feb. '91?
Couldn't see 500 yards!

Elevation of a little over 3400 ft. (that's about the Low point of WY.) if I remember correctly. I've got a film pic of the signage somewhere.
