Blue Ridge Run 2017!

YEP..........it's time for our 4th annual Blue Ridge Run! MDrake is our local host rider for this gathering......and looking forward to riding with him again!

I know what you are thinking........the heat can be really bad this time of year.....but that's back home.....way up in these mountains, it is nice! Avg. high temps normally reach around 80.......the twisties, scenery, and dirt are always a welcome site.....and so is the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground that we call home for the weekend! Make sure and give the campground a call soon, before all the cabins fill up with the weekend riders.

Here are a few pics from the past few years..........

Who: Anyone wanting world class Adventure and Dual Sport riding!
What: Blue Ridge Run
Where : Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground in Cruso,NC
Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground
When: June 23-25 (Early Bird -22nd)
Why: Because we are about as far east as the mountains go!

Chuck, I've been on a ride with guys, but would like to join you for the Blue Ridge Run. Would you mind telling me if this particular run is more dirt or more street.

This rally is Big Bike Friendly (BBF)! So, 650 and up bikes are right at home. Although, smaller cc bikes do fine, except on our longer parkway routes. There shouldn't be anything above a 2.5 on the 5.0 scale. Last year at the end of a ride, I asked the guys if they wanted to check deeper into an area I had found earlier in the year, and that got technical....but all was fine. Glad to hear you are coming! If you want a cabin, better get it now!

Thanks Chuck, but I guess I wasn't exactly clear with my question. I have two tire setups for my KLR. I have a Metzler Tourance tire setup for street or Forestry roads and then I have a D606/MT21 setup for more off-road. Which would be the better setup for the Blue Ridge Run? Thanks

Your street setup would work fine in the dirt, but your other setup would be better for what we are doing. Those tires do very good on the twisties we will be riding and will eat up the dirt.

Now.....if you are planning on touring to camp, and are coming quite a distance, then I would consider the street setup.
