Get one soon, I’ve been seeing the first gens fetch almost the same amount as a second gen 😂
Just got off the Phone with my TIG Welder for the new Bung in my Header Pipe. I hope to get my Gen 3 buttoned up by Spring. Then I'll save for the next one!

Now.... to 685 the Gen 3 or the next addition to the Stable?

Shoot, I’d save another grand and get a whole first gen. I didn’t even do it for the power more so because you can’t get rings for the piston, but actually I just got into offroad bikes and I'm going to get a small 2/4 stroke dirt bike to do the really fun technical stuff/ramps

Got the impeller swapped out, not sure if it was necessary but peace of mind,
It Needed IT.
That one ragged vane would have caused cavitation/aeration of the coolant.
Entrained air in the coolant Severely reduces its cooling capacity.
This was learned from former member @Normk .

Read here,
I figured it would mess with the flow,
after a fresh rebuild I want it to be 100%

Got the subframe bolts installed, thanks EAGLE. If you're ordering from him anyway, might as well add it to your cart. At least in my town I couldn't get all the bolts for 5$

I also wanted a permanent solution to the bolts that weren't stock and fall out easy

So big update today, I got the bike all squared away and it started right up, absolutely no issues. The used "ebay" shorty choke with my original spring/needle worked flawlessly.
I wasn't able to ride this bike around very far when I first bought it so I have to say the first ride had me grinning for awhile.
The 685 really feels smoother
The klx kit and 42 pilot gave me no trouble
Also slid out on some snow/mud so glad that's out of the way

I'll upload a vid to my youtube channel for anyone interested
