I found a 2008 cylinder head to replace mine on my 97, Other than the egr port on the top of the head is there any other differances between the two.

I was going to send the old one out, but there is not any good machine shops by me to do that kind of work. My exhaust cam wiped out the saddles in the head. :(

Check you other thread about the head problems. There is a guy on ADV Rider selling one for $350 complete.

As far as I know, the heads will swap out. The cams are a bit different, but that shouldn't hurt anything.

You might want to drop a line to Eagle Mike and ask his opinion on it. There's also a guy on kl650.net, tubebender, who is pretty knowledgeable on heads.

Where's NEPA? North East, Pennsylvania? Any shops in Erie?

What, if any, differences are inside?
Specifically, compression ratio, valve sizes, and flow.
Wonder if an older head is better for the new generation engine block
for performance before more EPA regs were instituted.
