My 09 ignition switch was thoughtfully buggered up by the previous owner with a screwdriver or the likes. I'd like to replace it so as to not look as if the bike is "stolen" and for other obvious reasons. I've searched the net only to find vague descriptions on how to remove it. Perhaps I haven't searched in the correct niche's of the net so I bring my problems here in the hopes of a solution. Any information and/or links would be appreciated. And thanks in advance from Northern California.

Purchase a Clymer service manual. It is more valuable than most people realize.
The service manual should show you how to remove the front fairing. So you can drill the heads off of the Anti-tamper mounting bolts, to allow the switch body to be removed.
Then the shanks of the mounting bolts are simply unscrewed from the triple clamp with vise-grips.

New mounting bolts come with the new ignition switch.
