Bot the 2012 new last year, have about 500 miles on it. About half the time there is a clack from the engine on shutdown. Just when the engine comes to rest. I think it may be the starter clutch gear engaging if the piston comes to rest on the compression stroke and tries to turn backwards a little. Is this a possibility? Is this common for this bike or do I need to get it looked at?

I've never really paid attention but haven't noticed any odd noises at shutdown. If it's running fine it's probably nothing, but hopefully some of the other members will be able to shed some light on it... Maybe the Kacr making noise as it slows to a stop?

Oh, and welcome to the forum! :)

Thanks, the bike runs great otherwise. Thought it may be the kacr too. Seems like the noise comes from the bottom end of the motor but is really hard to pin point.
