Third Annual Bancroft KLR Ride

August 23-25 2013

Bancroft Tent and Trailer Camp

Bancroft, ON, Canada

I have again reserved our usual group site for the weekend. You are welcome to arrive anytime Friday the 23rd. Please pay your fee of $7 per person/per night to Sheila at the main office. Remember to get your hand stamped so we know you've paid. In the past we have all left together Sunday morning and rode as a group in the general direction of home.

This is a casual gathering of some KLR enthusiasts in Ontario. I simply book the camp site and that is all. The rest is up to you. Bancroft has restaurants and all amenities in town which is a five minute drive from the camp ground.

The past two years have been a lot of fun for those of us that attended. On Saturday we went for a ride in the Bancroft area where there's lots of logging roads, power lines and trails. Some of them are quite challenging. We break into two groups; one goes for the really gnarly trails and the other (includes me) goes for a slightly more tame route. The evenings were spent around the camp fire where we had a few drinks and laughed a lot.

So if you are interested in meeting some fellow KLRists come on out for the ride. For those of you that were there last year, I look forward to seeing you again.

Please Note: The camp owners ask that you keep your beer bottles in a cooler sleeve when walking through the camp grounds. Also, this is a 'Family Campground' so civility is required when it comes to any 'partying' that we do.

Simply post a reply here if you plan on joining us.

Hope to see you there,

Hof

Glad to see you made it Hoff!

Sign me up for the 3rd straight year! It always is a great weekend with plenty to do and see. The back roads are all great and the trails fantastic also!
If you know the area and want to lead a group feel free or just follow along in a group all is good.

As Hoff has said it's a nice quiet family campground facility which welcomes us every year for a very resonable rate. They have full facilities as in flush toilets, shower and a rec hall if the weather gets bad. There is fishing for those who want to try their hand at it near by. The campground has it's own lake to enjoy...but you will be the first to get wet not sure why we haven't ever been swiming before as it has a sandy beach etc. Maybe just too tired from the days rides.

Again....I'm in for year #3.....Hope to see the usual crowd and many new faces.

Well, I picked the right weekend for our ride. Turns out it's the annual 'Pig Roast' at the camp that Saturday. $12 a plate includes, homemade beans, buns, salad, and corn on the cob, and cake for dessert with entertainment in the evening.
So there you go, one more reason to come out!

Hey All,

Just a reminder that the annual 'Bancroft Ride' is a few weeks away. Don't forget to tell the wife and boss (that may be one in the same?) that you will not be available from 23Rd to the 25Th of August.

Hope to see you there!

Hey Guys,

Also, a reminder that Saturday night Sheila is having a pig roast at the camp and we are invited.

The price is $10 per plate.

It's also Hawaiian theme night, so bring your tacky shirt.

If you could please post a reply if you will be joining us for dinner so I can give her an approximate number.
