Hey Everyone!

I have a new 2022 KLR650. Sand khaki:)

have about a 100 miles on it and already had to add oil :p Through my research I’ve learned that the piston in the oil system is crap and the 1st gen had a setup that is way better. Had anyone done that swap?

I also ordered a thermobob to regulate the cooling system and gave it perform optimally.

Is there a riding group in Seattle? I’d love to meet other owners.

With only 100 miles on it, it’s not even fully broken in. Keep riding it. Measure your oil usage and report what it is.

Gen 1 OEM piston & ring sets are NO Longer Available!!

Only aftermarket like Wossener, Niks, ProX.

Ride the tires off it, add oil as needed. It may get better, it may not.

Your dealership probably didn’t add the proper amount of oil to your engine.
Good catch

Slap on a aftermarket pipe, air filter, and remove the air intake snorkle.. Did this on my 22" KLR and love the results, little more throttle response, better low end torque, better sound and 15lbs of weight loss. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine but will most likley taper off after break in. ENJOY"
