Ok, so I've done A LOT of searching through several sites, but can't find any posts on the characteristic differences between the 43mm inverted and 50mm conventionals.
I am in the dirt as much as possible, but have some pavement mixed in. I'd say about 80% dirt, made up of 50% trail and the rest country roads.
I like to ride it like a dirt bike when possible, not a touring junkie.

I'm looking for answers on how the 50mm forks are going to feel, compared to the 43mm's (I've riden the 43's). What are the advantages, and disadvantages, of both?
Which ones do you think I would like better, with the description above?

43mm versus 50mm(?)

the 43mm fork has the same dampers in them as the older 38mm fork did.
I wonder what you are referring to "50mm conventional"?
the main benefit to the larger tube diameter of the 43's on the new bike is front end strength and integrity, though the damping system is the same.

if you are referring to some other forks that have 50mm tubes, they may come with "cartridges" which if properly set-up have much better hydraulic damping. but klrs to my knowledge, all come with non-cartridge style forks, which don't damp all that well. called "damper rod forks"
We modify any damper rod fork with Racetech Cartridge Emulators. it's a very cool kit that tricks the fork by making it act like a cartridge. Combine with proper fork springs and you have a very nice ride.

Emulators

Put emulators in my 97 FLHTC, made a BIG difference in handling along with the springs, and the 20w-50 oil in the forks that they recommend.
