I have a 86 KLR that I just had the top end rebuilt by a local pro BUT: When I got it back it needed a new battery so I bought one and ran like a champ until the NEW battery died. Seems like there was no current getting back to charge the battery as the bike is running. So I took out the battery, charged it and it fired right up. Battery still won't charge while running. Now its developed a new electrical issue: even with a full charge on the battery the starter sounds like it doesn't have enough juice to get the motor started but there is plenty of juice in the battery. In addition to the other issues, my low beam won't turn on either.... any else have the same gremlins? I was able to kickstart it when I first got it back from the shop, but now that won't work either! I suspect there are some corroded connectors somewhere in the system but I am at a loss as to where to begin! I am lucky enough to have a manual so any direction would be helpful. Thanks without snow here in Northern California the trails are still open and I need to ride!
