Hi,

I got an 91 KLR 650 which I'm repairing.

One thing that I want to do is have the right bolts or at least not have a mix of screws and bolts that for sure are not the default ones. The idea is to have the same type of "head" so I can have the minimal tools with me when traveling.

Have this said - where or what should I be looking for? I See some bolt kits on ebay of KLR from 2008, would that be ok? I always thought that Kawasaki didn't change much the KLR so I'm guessing that probably this type of kits would be ok.

What do you think?

thanks for your time and support.
Cheers!

Like a lot of old bikers, I have jars full of miscellaneous nuts, bolts and pieces/parts.
I bet an add in your local website buy/sell would find someone in your neighbourhood who has too.
I’d send you a bunch, but the shipping would be costly.

Hopefully the kits to fit the extra body parts on the 2008-2018 KLR650's will leave you with a few extra 6mm bodywork bolts for Spares on your 1991.

I'll suggest that you could order 2 full sets for the cost of a small hand full of oem bolts.
