I am the second owner of my 2009 klr, it has run great for the past year. It has now developed a backfire at start up, when it backfires it blows the carberator off the front boot. This has happen the past to days, yesterday I put the boot and carb back together and went on my way, bike ran fine. This morning it happened again, so I am asking for help, any advice would be great.

First thought is that your intake valves are way too tight - you're on the verge of burning them if they are not burned now.

Backfiring through the intake can occur when the valves do not close completely before ignition occurs. The cause is either incorrect timing or insufficient valve lash.

Pull the valve cover and check both lash and timing.
