Got back into two wheeling after a 10 year hiatis. Did a lot of research and ended up buying an 08 blue KLR. Gotta say I love it! I rode dirt bikes as a kid and in my 30s had a couple of HDs. This is by far the funnest bike I have ever owned. I like doing my own wrenching and this bike is right up my alley. I look forward to meeting new people and doing some trips in my beautiful home state of Oregon. COME ON WARM WEATHER!! Rode it to work today and it was 12Deg out! Got the Eagle Mike Doo sitting on my desk, SW Motech crash bars on the way, and a Stebel horn that I still need to find time to install. Anyway here is pic (Like nobody has seen a blue 08). :)

Didn't think this site endorsed site censorship. Just where were you banished from? Oh...and welcome to the site.

HAHAHA! Welcome to club banned, I'm also a member. Nice 08 and looks like you have some great riding there.

F that other site, the owner has a you don't donate, you don't matter attitude. Like we can't live without his site or something... LOL!!! I'm still alive and much better off not having to deal with his harem of butt buddies.

New here too. Bought a 2008 KLR 650 in February. In right now for the 600 mile service. Love it. Really fun.

I am (and the dealer where I bought it) having trouble finding heated grips for this 2008 model. Also it seems Givi has not made an adapter for the new bigger rack. Has anyone found a source for heated grips that will fit a 2008?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Acatually had some warmer weather tody, 12 when I rode to work and 44 on the way home. Yea I couldn't believe I got banned when all I did was point out some mistakes in a post where he was arging with another member (no cussing or anything). Anyway, long story short, after my ban I emailed him back and told him to "blow me Biatch". Musta been mad cause I can't even view that site now.

Hey welccome, a guy form that place that nobody can pronounce correctly! I spent my last 4 years in the Navy in Everett. I'll look around for the heated grips.

These grip heaters are universal, and work with any grip of your choice. Some people haven't had good luck with Dual Star, but that's where I got mine, and they're shaweeet.

I know what you mean about pronouncing Puyallup correctly. You should see what most spell checkers come up with. I bought the thing up in Enumclaw (I know... another funny name. Wait until I figure out how to work Issaquah into the discussion. Oh! I already did). They are also a big snowmobile dealer and they tried several kinds of heated grips and could not get any to work.

Oh well... it was 54 degrees today so maybe not a problem until fall.

Welcome to the forum...

We have seen a few 08's, but none with that background, so it gives us a different look at the 08.

Almost Any grip heaters can be put on'.

If you ever get out this way don't miss sunny central Oregon. We've had a couple of really big motorhome conventions the last two years here.

We passed through there last Sept and Oct, we did the coast almost all the way down. My wife likes lighthouses!
We did get over to Sutherlin for a week and saw some of the covered bridges, and Crater Lake is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.
Out of all the places we have seen if I had to take one picture it would be of Crater Lake.
We hope to get back to the left coast sometime next year.

Heated Grips...Oxford Heaterz fit the 08 well...

The other site seems overmoderated to me and I think the censorship is BS, but that's where the bulk of the traffic is. :mad0235:

I tread lightly over there and hope I don't get banned. High traffic equals faster responses so I still post over there even though I don't care for the way it's run.

The .net address is clipped here because of issues shortly after this site was starting to roll..
The former owner clipped it and it's just stayed that way as a censored word.

There's not many words censored here, and everyone respects the wishes to keep it clean and family oriented..

:)

I kinda look at it that if someone needs to unload and do some good old fashioned screaming and bitching, ADV's JoMomma is the place to go.. The attitude here is usually extremely upbeat and everyone typically treats others as they'd like to be treated, so it remains fun and informative.

It always seems to get better and better, too.. Currently, it's not overly technical, but it's getting more and more, and the helping the buddy factor without flaming is great!!

Since it's a smaller site, and the security is pretty good, the spam is even low.. I haven't had to eliminate a spammer in months!! :)

We should all be proud of ourselves for keeping this place so nice, not many websites go this direction these days.

Have you guys noticed the hard work that X6 is doing on the Ladies Room Rennovation? Funny stuff.:)
