Best maps, sites for mapping?

I am new to KLR's and dual sport but I plan to contact this group..

I have ridden very little dirt in those states as I have always taken the bandit. I can say though that if you take 191 out of Vernal, UT and into flaming gourge it is quite scenic. DON'T stop on the bridge though! I have ridden some dirt in WY mostly on the Pilot Butte Scenic Loop

There are a ton of roads in WY so have fun!

Furkot https://trips.furkot.com/ and use the OsmAnd app on the phone for directions. I think you can even load it to Garmin GPS.

There's a little bit of a learning curve but with enough time it's pretty easy to figure out.

You also MUST make an account if you want to save a map. If you just start drawing a map and refresh the page an hour later, it's all gone if you're not logged in.

August is a tough time to be riding in Southern Utah, but the payoff is worth it. Happy to advise on southern trails and the AZ strip, and if you're in need of anything, I live in Hurricane, the gateway to Zion National Park and the strip. PM for info or when you're in the area I'd be happy to go over BLM maps with you.

I use a BLM topo map app on an old iPad where I download grids of the areas I'm riding. Combined with the GPS on my iPhone I've never gone astray. BLM roads are relatively well-marked and the maps are topographic and very comprehensive.

We used the Rever app on iPhones and it did the job. The app still has some tweaks needed for improvement but it and an accompanying set of paper maps was all we needed.

For anyone interested in getting Osmand+, they just dropped the price from $19.99 to $9.99.

Oh, I'm using a Duraforce Pro cellphone I bought on Ebay for $50 and Osmand+ for GPS mapping on my KLR.

Here's a writeup on how it's done:

People are hard at work trying to finish plotting the Wyoming Back-Country Discover Route. WY probably has 100 times more dirt than asphalt.

Butler Maps may be a great source for quicker, scenic dirt road routes thru all states involved.
