Hey Y'all, Considering the great interaction and fellowship I always had on this site, after a couple of years absence I felt obligated to drop in and tell you all I didn't die or experience being involuntarily committed to a mental institution, crash and swear off riding or anything..........

Lots of changes have occurred over the past couple of years; got a divorce, decided to sell Casa De Planalp instead of trying to pay for and maintain it myself, choosing instead to move to an apartment in the town where I work while I bide my time before retiring to Colorado and I *gasp" sold my KLR to help alleviate short term expenses. No worries and no drama, tho; mutual decision between me and the ex and we parted on good terms. We even still work at the same place. I was just kinda bummed when I sold the KLR so dropped off the forum. No offense intended; just was what it was at the time.

"Paradigm shift" occurred when things stabilized and it was finally time for a new bike and I now ride a Suzuki DL1000XT (Worst Name For A Motorcycle Ever "VStrom") which I'm thoroughly enjoying. Shitty nomenclature, good bike. Must say, tho, the Stromtrooper site is not nearly as righteous as klrforum. Lots of information but no soul.

I noted Kawasaki is discontinuing the KLR. Sorry to hear that. With this site and your knowledge around tho, most of you will be dead long before the last KLR stops roaming the Earth. "Take consolation in that." I greatly appreciate that and it is as it should be.

Would throw some shouts out to you particular old barnacles of the site but don't want to forget anybody so no offense intended by not doing so.

Mostly just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and Good, Safe Riding in 2019. If you see a giant, crazy John Bown-bearded hillbilly breaking the mold by not sporting standard, MARG (Mandatory Adventure Rider Gear) astride a white Vstrom, instead wearing bib overalls, a Key Imperial hickory stripe logger shirt, Cowshit-colored Wellington work boots and light tan Tractor Supply Company deerskin work gloves, throw me a wave!

Take it easy and abide. Keep on maintaining, modifying and riding those fantastic KLR's and keep on making this a great site!

Highest compliment I can pay is "You Guys Have Your Shit Together."

There is so much I could say, but I know you and I know you're doing well so I'll limit my comments to just a couple.

It's great to hear from you. You don't know how great, but it is.

And finally, stick around will ya?

You've been missed.

Yes, yes!! I echo what Tom said. So nice to have you drop buy and to hear you are doing well. Wipe your feet on the welcome mat and make yourself at home.

Also glad to hear you are doing well, Planalp.

Do you mean to tell us that the 'Stromtroopers' would never have a thread like, "Show me your Tool"?

Have a Very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Wonderful Riding yourself.

Thanks for the invitation to be the site's bastard child, guys, I appreciate it and am glad to see you're all still here and doing good. I'll stay active at your behest. I was wondering if I could contribute anything meaningful since I'm no longer a KLR owner, but, then again, I never contributed much of anything meaningful when I was...........

There is always the "Off Topic" section, which could use a little spice! ;)

Nope. Simply untrue. Not buyin' it. Not for a minute. Or a minuet.

Hey! We could resurrect the cooking thread.

I made cannoli a couple of days ago. TLW and I were working on baked cannoli shells. Baked rather than fried makes cannoli a health food.

I will keep Off Topic and Cooking in mind........ I may be able to contribute there. Plus, I get tired of recipes/ideas and would rather just have them thrown in my lap........

Don't know ya, don't care!
You are a rider and by the sound of it a bit off on the standard mold side. I like that.
So with that I would like to have known ya and hope the best for the rides in your future.
I'll be watching for that outfit of yours. Shouldn't be hard to miss.
And a Very Merry Christmas to you! And the best for the New Year!
