I am curious what the bigger riders think of their corbin or sargeants. I am 6"5 280lbs and I only have enough funds to buy one of these, so Im trying to get it right on the first try.

I have a Corbinn Flat, at 6'3" and 250# I love it!

JMO - you know what opinions are like!

I ride mostly street, no problem off road though as long as you are not very short in the inseam!

I went with the Russell. I am 6'3" and 280. I had it made long in the front so I can stand up in the dirt or slide back and be comfortable. It has been 3 years and no complaints.

How hard is it to install a seat, for someone who is not mechanically inclined in the least?
if it installs like the stock seat does then it couldn't be easier. its only held on with 2 screws. all you need to do is take of f the plastics on the sides (another 2 screws) and then unbolt the seatand lift it out.

Ya, why waste money on a brand new seat ... just go to an uposterer who specialises in motorcycle seats and ask them to redo the padding with higher density foam and add an inch if you like. I did mine like that because I bought it off a lady who removed padding to suit her shorter stature. It only cost me $60 and I have never been uncomfortable.

I have had the Corbin dish( not comfortable for touring pretty good off road), the Corbin Flat( too hard for my taste, never did break in ) , now I have a Russel Day Long. The Day Long works really good for me . I have done 1,030 miles on it in 18 hours. I have done a lot of 400 mile days. The Day Long is good but not great for off road.
