There's a bunch of free or very Cheap mods that get the bike very responsive and
running hard n' fast. It's all in the tech sections. Break-in stuff too. It's all
here and we help each other out.
For the break-in, don't baby it nor beat it up. Just ride normally and change the oil
a few times in the first thousand miles. Lot of up and downshifting to get the
piston rings seated. The owner's manual break-in is too gentle on the engine.
I hope some other owners chime in with their opinions as this subject varies
VERY widely among owners. My way is the way most often recommended.
That's why I do/ did it this way. I read about such a large percentage of
people who bought one new, and started right off riding kinda hard. Not
beating it up, just hitting the gas hard, and using engine braking to seat/ seal the
rings going both directions in the cylinder.
