Got the bike out this morning, along with the oil, filter, new plugs, PCV valve, for PCV Mod, drill bit and #4 washer, for the .22 Mod. Everything was good until I went to take off the filter cover, it felt tight and would not budge. I tried to pry it off no luck, got out the rubber mallet to give it some persuasion, and the bolt tab broke on one side of the oil filter cover. I finally got it off, but man was it hard to do. Got out the JB Weld and cold welded the tab back, but of course i now need a new cover. I guess ebay is the best choice, not sure if I can get one from a dealer, and I will check the one and only motorcycle salvage yard we have, which never has anything I need.

Other than that everything went well, bike runs good, but a valve adjustment is in order, got some pinging under load.

That filter/cover is used on a lot of smaller Kawasaki engines.. There's a good chance your dealer will have one.. If not, they typically take a day or two to get in..
