hi all hope you can help just bought a 2000 klr 650 when i got it i was told there was a problem with the wrist pin because of the noise it was making.i ended up pulling the head and found out it was trashed.i checked the cylinder wall it looked good.i found a good used head and lapped the valves put in new seals and new gaskets.when i got it started it smoked like crazy.i thought it might be that i oiled the parts very well when i put it together.long story short i put 30 miles on it and its still smoking.when i start it up its the worst.after i run it for awhile it dies down but still smokes.i talked to the original owner and was told he ran it out of oil.i thought the oil rings might be stuck because it still has plenty of power.dont want to drive it to much i was told it could warp the cylinder because of the burning oil.
