Sorry to post twice but I posted it in gadgets and gizmos first by accident.:mad0235:

Just a quick thought and question.

My friend and I both have KLR's, his is an 06' and mine is a 96'. Just yesterday he got his Cee Bailey's +10 windscreen. When he went to install he found that the bolt patter was a bout 3/16" off. He called Cee Bailey today and this is what they said, (by the way everyone at Cee Baileys was very nice and helpfull about this) that his bike while being an 06' seems to have and 05' front fairing, that sometimes they use left over parts and Kaw. Now my friend bought his 06' used so this could have been replaced with out our knowledge. The guy at Cee Baileys said we could take a dremel and modify it to fit but to be carefull, he also said that if we mess it up he would send us another windscreen which was very nice. So just to let everyone know if they dont already, that when ordering from Cee Baileys for a 06' windscreen make sure your bolt pattern is correct.

Question: Has anyone else ever heard of an 06' with a 05' front fairing from manuf.? Since the fairings look the same why would Kaw make different bolt patterns even if it is just 3/16"?:18:

I think about the 2006 time frame they started making them in Hong Kong. My 2007 was made in Hong Kong.

ucatch,

I just got a 2003 with the 'standard' 5in windscreen. I'm 5'10" and the wind hits me square in the face.

I've been looking at the Cee Bailey product - by their 'fit formula' a 10" would be right at 'mustashe' level. How is your friend's working out? Any comments ?

Regards & Thanks,

The windscreen has worked out great for my friend. We just got back this past weekend from a 500 mile ride, 2.5 hours of it was on I81 at 70 mpg and no problems with wind. Your bottom will hurt long before the wind will hurt you with the +10.
