Well.....with just a few weeks left of the scheduled riding season, I hope to see you guys at Cuhutta DS Ride!

Randall has a spare 'house' available for people staying over, so even if you are far away, make your way over to Casa de JohnRandall. They are always generous at feeding us and giving us a great place to lay our heads! Many of us like to contribute as well. I always bring my Banana Pudding......but you better hurry.......it's sometimes gone before Saturday comes around. Ha!

There are great local trails for those seeking some dirtbike opportunities..........and of course plenty of great Adventure riding available, as well!

Who: All welcome! Something for everyone!
What: Cuhutta DS Ride
Where: 786 Crandall Elijay Rd. Chatsworth, GA https://binged.it/HLua4L
When: Nov. 20-22
Why: Randall and family enjoy having us out to celebrate another great year of riding!

Just saw this:
.
Talladega National Forrest report;
We road yesterday from Waldo to Adams gap. Every trail or Road that we traveled I had trees down. We were Able to clear some of the smaller trees with a handsaw. A lot of the bigger ones we’ve just had to go around through the woods. Good thing I just watched the Red Bull Romaniac because that’s what I felt like we were doing. The 600 from Highway 77 to Adams gap is really impassable unless you’re willing to abuse yourself and your bike to get around some of these trees.

Due to an oil cooler line coming apart, I am out. Have to get a new piston (2nd time to rebuild top end since July). Y'all have a good time
It stinks, Dean. I am sure you will be able to ride someone's spare.

That is sad to read. :(
"oil cooler line" on what model of bike? How did it take out the piston, rings, cylinder before the camshaft & bearings?

Was the oil cooler line previously modified in any way? Oem oil cooler or aftermarket?

It was on my 2009 XR650l. An aftermarket oil cooler installed before I bought it. Back in June I knew it used oil, rode a couple times and forgot to check the oil and ran it low. Replaced the piston with a 103mm and rebuilt the top end. I went to ride last Friday, somehow the oil line coupling came apart when I cranked the bike. I started riding with no idea about the oil leaking. rode about 8 miles and bike started cutting out. tore it down today, piston is scarred, taking the sleeve to see if it can be honed. Miraculously, the crank and bearings came out ok
